We are writing to Personal Banking customers who are included in the transfer to let them know what it means for them. Not all customers who hold accounts at branches that are included in the transfer will be transferring with the branch.
What happens if the branch where my accounts are held is transferring?
If the branch where you hold your accounts is transferring you can carry on banking as you do now, using the same account number and sort code, branch, Internet Banking, Telephone Banking and cash machine services.
Your branch will not close as part of the move to TSB and we intend to transfer TSB to the new owner by the end of 2013. The staff will stay with that branch, so they’ll be transferring too, and will continue to provide you with the same level of service, in the same place, just under new ownership.
Not all customers who hold accounts at branches that are included in the transfer, will be transferring with the branch. We will keep you up to date about any changes that affect you before they happen and we’ll be working hard over the coming months to make the transfer as smooth as possible.
If the branch where you hold your accounts is not transferring
If the branch where you hold your accounts is not transferring you will remain a customer of Lloyds TSB and you can carry on banking as normal.
Some Lloyds TSB branches that you use may become TSB branches so you won’t be able to use them for all your banking anymore. There will still be over 1,200 Lloyds TSB branches that you can use for day-to-day banking, and you’ll be able to use Cashpoint® machines, Internet Banking and Telephone Banking in the same way, as you do now.
How were the branches selected?
The branches and accounts that will move to TSB were chosen as a representative cross-section of our business that will form a separate bank in line with the EC’s aim of increasing competition and customer choice.
A full range of services and products
The branches and accounts included in the transfer will become part of a fully functioning bank with more than 8000 staff, over 600 branches, internet banking and telephone banking. It will offer many of the same services and wide range of products that you get now.
The transfer includes:
- some Lloyds TSB branches in England and Wales and most of the accounts held at those branches
- all Lloyds TSB Scotland branches and most of the accounts held at those branches
- all Cheltenham & Gloucester branches and some C&G accounts
